As I celebrated my birthday yesterday (one of too many) I thought how lucky I was to move into my dream home 13 years ago. I have never regret my decision and enjoy every single day. The right home is important especially if you have a huge family and lots of work to do.

A unique thing in Thailand, as far as I know the only local association registered with the government authorities, set up according to the Rules and Regulations and Code of Ethics by the American National association of Realtors.As I have been working in real estate for 31 years (bank, developer, agent...) I think I made a qualified choice when building my current house.
Lots of people are working in real estate but not all. So if you got some tooth pain you will go to a good dentist. If you need a home you should contact a qualified real estate broker who listens to your requirements, presents you with a shortlist of properties, takes you to view them, discusses the pros and cons of each property, helps you choosing the best one, negotiates the price and terms of the purchase and accompanies you through the whole process of getting the ownership.
Sounds simple but it takes experience, knowledge and determination to work in this business. real estate never sleeps, some of my best deals I closed on Saturday night or Sunday afternoon on the beach or on holiday thanks to modern technology (the very smart phones).
By the way, this is our house. 10 min drive over Sukkhumvit. Nice neighborhood. Gated community with monthly fees of 1750 Baht. Managed by Siam Properties. Mosquitoes are not a problem - we don't have screens or nets. Individually planned, built to top standards.
Expect house and land to be in the range of 9-14 M depending on you requirements and the plot size.
This is like being on a holiday any single day - for 13 years.
