Jomtien Special

We just drive on Thappraya Road heading South, passing the traffic lights at the famous Sugar Hut Restaurant and Resort, leaving out Pratumnak on the right hand site (a Pratumnak special will be part of NL 97 next week) and arrive at the car park, airport bus terminal, Foodmart, with the VT 1 behind and the probably longest serving Italian Restaurant Pan Pan opposite. So here we are at Jomtien. Behind the Pan Pan we find Grand Condo and Condotel, beach front condo and housing developments with direct access to the Dong Tan Beach, home of my favorite restaurants Sand Bar and Rabbit Resort

Ahead is the intersection referred to as “Hanuman” with the New Road ahead and the “Police Box” if you turn to the right.

From this intersection it is not far to View Talay Villas, View Talay

Residence 1-4 and the Immigration Office at Soi 5 – every foreigner had been there sometimes!

Next to the View Talay Villas is the Rompho Market, famous for street food dinners.

The New Road did not exist when I moved to Pattaya and is now home to several condo developments like AD Grand, Dusirt, Riviera, Aqua, Copacabana....

If you turned right towards the Police Box the “Twin Towers” (Jomtien Complex) will be on your right hand, the Jomtien Plaza on the left – they marked the “end of the world” 26 years ago...

Now we got new condo towers like Cetus, Areas, Reflection and others on the Beach Road and well established buildings like Jomtien Beach Condo (Rimhard), Metro and Chom Talay - to name only a few.

Don't forget what is actually called “Na Jomtien” with La Royale (The Residences), Veranda, Riviera Monaco... all not far from the end of Jomtien Beach Road, marked by the Restaurant Lung Sawai, an “institution” for several decades for Thai- and sea food.

You could write a book about only this area but locals reading this might already got bored and missing their favorite restaurant, hotel or condo – there are sheer too many.
